Brian Edwards Teekert needs to pick up his game in covering the OSF events. His reports consistently sound snarky and bitchy and trite. We all know that he's far above such unwashed rabble, but he ought to make more of an effort to report instead of snipe.
Yikes. The news headlines at 4pm were embarrassing. Remember the cheering crowd at the Saddam Hussein statue? We paid for them. This is not alternative news. Say something thats not on Yahoo News or what the hell is the point?
Repeated claims that Occupy Oakland protesters have "renamed" Frank O Plaza "Oscar Grant" Plaza reflect poorly on the KPFA News' accuracy and integrity. Protestors cannot rename a public plaza any more than you or I can. Every time KPFA News claims they have it degrades the station's journalistic credentials. Come on guys, drop the agenda and report the news in a way that we can trust.
The very least that I expect from KPFA News is to be as skeptical about what the UN does and says about Syria as one is about what the UN says and does about Haiti. The UN is little more than a tool for US policy in conflict zones, especially conflicts with strategic implications for the US and Israel.
Al-Jazeera is obviously partisan in the Arab onslaught against Syria for the country being too closely aligned with Iran. Too much cut-and-paste on the evening news. At least on CNN, we get to see pictures -- otherwise, what's the difference?
My response to your thoughts, though well taken, about insufficient objectivity is: That’s why I don’t shop at Wal-Mart. You just cannot “get it all” in one place. I think Pacifica Evening News and Free Speech Radio News (and the former’s use of Al Jazeera) are at least less glaringly vested in private interests than are U.S. “mass mediated/opinionated/commercial-saturated” television (I haven’t watched the box in years!) and National Public Radio. What I’m saying is, you have to listen to a variety — and particularly online sources. Try Press TV. Try Deutsche Welle. Try Radio Netherlands Worldwide. Try a variety of Asian, African, European and Australian audio news sources. I know these are not domestic outlets (U.S. broadcasting is horrible to its core, void of redeeming features); but they do offer a needed distancing; and, taken together, they provide some measure of factual truth or true truth or at least a requisite measure of accuracy and fair rendering. The rest up to listener judgment; I’m always looking for more variety in sources. These are my thoughts reflecting my practice. See Bennett’s Study: todaysinsightnews.blogspot.com
That you could go on and on and on with that Todd Aiken non-story as your lead-off report tonight just confirms that you need a long rest from your duties at the KPFA evening news. Irrelevant drivel. Do you think people out here really need political education about why Republican candidates are not in the best interests of the residents of north America and the world? Almost unbelievable.
Minimum that Document expect as a result of KPFA News is planned to be as skeptical in what the NOT does in addition to says about Syria as you is as to what the N'T says along with does around Haiti.
Oh! Amazing effort by the commentary. I unearth few helps over here related by this post to carry out my task nicely. I highly recommend this. Thanks a lot………
