Voices of the Middle East and North Africa - August 18, 2004

Join co-hosts Malihe and Ali Ezzatyar, sitting in for Khalil, for this week's program, during which, we will first hear a conversation with Khalida Jarrar, Director of Addameer Prisoners’ Support and Human Rights Association, about the on-going hunger strike by Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons. Later in the program, there will be an interview with Kurdish Professors Amir Hassanpour of Toronto University and Mehrdad Izady where these two guests engage in a discussion of the contemporary Kurdish issues from two different perspectives. Also, in the program, a look at the upcoming performance of "Death of Yazdgerd" by Darvag, an Iranian-American theatre group in the Bay Area.
