The Center for Constitutional Rights files war crimes charges against
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, the former head of the CIA, and eight
military leaders charging them with acts of torture at Abu Ghraib prison in
Iraq…. .the charges are filed in Germany which allows the prosecution of
war crimes and human rights violations across national boundaries

The International Committee of the Red Cross says the U.S. treatment of
terrorism suspects at the Guantanamo naval base in Cuba is tantamount to
torture …the charge is contained in a report to U.S. officials after Red Cross
visits to Guantanamo

The Bush Administration to make another push to pass legislation
reorganizing the nation’s intelligence services as proposed by the September
11th Commission

Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge resigns — he’s the seventh member of
President Bush’s cabinet to leave since his reelection

On his last day as state senate leader Democrat John Burton indicates that
California’s budget problems can’t be solved without a tax increase

Amnesty International accuses police of abusing the use of stun
guns …it wants more study to determine if they’re safe
