In this week’s program, we’ll talk to Palestinian-Israeli Hebrew University Law Professor, Dr. Nadera Shalhoub- Kevorkian, about the militarization and violence against women in Palestine and Israel. Dr Shalhoub-Kevorkian will be in San Francisco, giving a presentation on her latest work and book project on the Weaponization of Women, in which she will offer her analysis of the way power holders used women as weapons of war and conflict, at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 5, at the San Francisco Women’s Building Auditorium, 3543 Eighteenth Street. For more information, visit: www.generationfive.org. Later in the program, Kutay Derin Kugay will talk to Ashkan Ghafouri, Imamyar Hasanov and Ali Tosun, some of the performers of the Nowrooz Project, featured in this year’s on-going Bay Area World Music Festival that will run through Sunday October 16. www.sfworldmusicfestival.org
