Voices of the Middle East and North Africa - November 2, 2005

In this week's program, we will have a discussion about the current political situation in Syria and Lebanon. Our guests are Political Science Professors Bassam Haddad of Saint Joseph's University and As'ad AbuKhalil of California State University at Stanislaus. Later in the program, we will have a conversation about Palestinian hip hop with the Palestinian-American filmmaker Jackie Salloum, one of the artists featured in the upcoming Justice Matters: Artists Consider Palestine exhibition featuring 14 Bay Area and international artists. This exhibition will open on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the Berkeley Art Center. We will also hear a commentary by the Palestinian-American labor activist, Monadel Herzollah on the upcoming November 8 Special Election in California.
