On this week’s program, Dr. Zeina Zaatari will talk to UC Berkeley History Professor Beshara Doumani on the issue of the academic freedom after 9/11. Beshara Doumani is also the Editor of a recently published book titled Academic Freedom after Sepetmber 11. Professor Doumani will be speaking in a panel on the same subject at Cody’s Books in Berkeley on Thursday, March 9. Later in the program, we will talk to San Jose State University Professor of English and Comparative Literature Persis Karim about the writings of Iranian women inside Iran and the U.S. Persis Karim will be one of the speakers at the upcoming International Women’s Day celebration -sponsored by Kavosh Iranian Women’s Group- at the La Pena in Berkley on Sunday, March 5.
