In this week’s program, Shahram Aghamir will talk to Dr. Isam Al Khafaji about the Shiite Community in Iraq as well as the political groups that form the United Iraqi Alliance, a coalition of groups from that community. Dr. Al Khafaji teaches political economy at the University of Amsterdam and is the author of "Tormented Births: Passages to Modernity in Europe and the Middle East." He is also a contributing editor of the Middle East Report.
Later in the program, Nadine Ghammache will talk to Rami Khalife and Kinan Azmeh, two exceptional musicians who are scheduled to perform at Lapena Cultural Center in Berkeley at 8 PM on Friday, April 7.
