Radio Chronicles - July 30, 2006

On the Radio Chronicles, we journey to the world of the salmon, who for the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest, have been the crux of their community for centuries. Without the salmon there would be no Pacific Northwest as we know it. Yet since 1991, most of the salmon runs in the Northwest have been listed as threatened or endangered.

Producer Barbara Bernstein shows us why the salmon are so significant and what it will take to keep them from disappearing in the documentary, Salmonlands.
