As lead singer and rhythm guitar player for the English punk rock band The Clash, Joe Strummer embodied for many the the marriage of radical politics, internationalism, and punk rebellion. Guest host Ramsey Kanaan speaks with Joel Shalit and Craig O'Hara about the contradictions of commercial success for the politics and aesthetics of The Clash, on the fifth anniversary of Strummer's death.
