In light of the recent National Media Reform conference in Memphis, Tennessee we present a panel of dynamic women media justice activists to talk about women in media in the left and the mainstream arena. Hosts Lisa Dettmer and Preeti Shekar talk to Jennifer Pozner, founder and director of Women In Media & News, Sonali Kolhatkar, host and producer of KPFK’s morning show, Uprising, and co-director of Afghan Women’s Mission, DeAnne Cuellar from the Texas Media Empowerment Project, and Theeba Soundararajan, Media & Technology Justice Program Director and co-founder of the Oakland based Third World Majority about who and what is still left out of the media.
