Fund Drive Special – Every War has Two Losers

In a post 9/11 world is there a place for those that argue war isn t the answer? Poet William Stafford took such a stand. When drafted for World War Two he refused to fight. As a conscientious objector, Stafford was confined to civilian public service camps where he became a life-long voice for seeking non-military ways to resolve conflicts. As a gifted poet he received the National Book Award. Using Stafford s own words and poems EVERY WAR HAS TWO LOSERS challenges us to think deeper about our beliefs surrounding war and how each of us can play a role in creating peace. Featuring prominent activists/writers Alice Walker (The Color Purple, W.S. Merwin (two time Pulitzer Prize winner), Robert Bly, Maxine Hong Kingston, Coleman Barks, Naomi Shihab Nye, Kim Stafford, Michael Meade. Voice of Stafford by Peter Coyote. Narration by Linda Hunt. Directed by Haydn Reiss.
