A discussion of Saturday’s Tucson tragedy, which killed of 6 people & injured 14 others, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Renée Saucedo, Director fo the SF Day Laborer Program and Salvador Reza, Coordinator for Arizona’s Puente Movement, talk to Tara Dorabji.

In response to Governor Jerry Brown’s release of his proposed state budget, coordinated rallies across the state demand a budget that raises revenues as ot protects families and jobs. We talk with Kim Kruckel, mother and organizer, and Deltrina Johnson, mother and childcare provider. Both are part of Parent Voices, Oakland.

UC Berkeley’s Professor Taeku Lee discusses the evolution of the current political environment & how political opinion is formed in an interview with Carmen Reed. His book, Mobilizing Public Opinion: Black Insurgency and Racial Attitudes in the Civil Rights Era is available from the University of Chicago Press.
