Pushing Limits

Pushing Limits – July 1, 2011

Friday, July on 94.1 KPFA FM in Berkeley, or www.KPFA.org at 2:30 pm PST: Celebrating Independence or Interdependence Day

With another Independence Day on the horizon, Pushing Limits is thinking about what “independence” means to the disability community. Is it being able to travel by yourself? Is it making use of technology instead of relying on a friend? Is it having the freedom to hire and fire your attendant? Or is it staying at home instead of moving into an institution?

Leah Gardner, Raphaella Bennin, and Adrienne Lauby will sit down to discuss the significance of independence (along with dependence and interdependence) as a member of the disability community. Call in at 510-848-4425 to tell Pushing Limits and the KPFA community how Independence has shaped your experience as someone with a disability.
