I listened to the Uprising show this Saturday. I will never be listening to it again. The last segment, with regards to Women In Sports, was without a doubt one of the most ridiculous bits of nonsense, it had ever been my misfortune to listen to. Why in the world would anybody waste their time giving voice to one of the most convoluted, twisted, meanderings of outlandish self-aggrandized belief systems, that is nothing more than the Evil Temptress Eve in a manechean struggle with the Saintly Virginal Madonna, I will never understand. It is as if the programers at this station have decided to use the airwaves as their own personal little fife, to spew forth the schema of their own demented realities. There was nothing in the segment on Women in Sports, that was anything more than the personal observations and twisted logic of sexual victimization that existed no where else but in the mind of the person interviewed. How in the world does the v-neck on the USA Women’s soccer jersey, suddenly become an open blouse, sexualizing the players?
Look at the jersey.That person really believes that two inches down from the chin, is a turn-on? David Beckham in his underwear isn’t exploitive, but a picture of a women in a sport’s bra is? Something that a female player did and which is no different that what Andres Inestra did in the World Cup, which is just a picture of an event that occurred, suddenly becomes a blow against all women? Everything that women said existed and sprang only from her own mind, and was HER observations and conclusions.This is one of the main reasons I stopped giving money and becoming a member of KPFA, let someone else subsidize, the slave learning to love her chains.
GET UPRISING OFF THE AIR, it is a waste of air time. It insults reason and has become a forum for anyone with a half-baked, cock-a-mammie notion of an idea born in their own demented repressed sexual realities.
