Thank You kpfa for giving us easy access to so many fine beyond, and often vitally critical of, the mainstream media and the normative mainstream social order. Regarding this Counterspin installment:a) Counterspin's Steve Rendel(sp?) gave the much better film analogy about Rupert Murdoch than his guest's james bond film analogy. "The Sweet smell of Sucess" is one of those just post McCarthyism, short lived "beat" spring, of the late 1950's which are not only classic cinema but offers more insightful, thought provoking, ethical content and dialogue than the vast majority of today's movies. b)James Galbraith economist, son of late legendary economist John K. Galbraith, is more of the common people's economist for sure. However, even Keynesian economics is based on production and consumption. In this crucial age of human and natural history, resources are running out. If we want to survive as a civilized humane species, resource based, localized economies are our only hope.
