Context: The hip-hop group Public Enemy released the seminal album entitled "Fear of a Black Planet" in 1990. In 1988, conscious hip-hop legend KRS-ONE sang, "I'm not White or Red or Black / I'm Brown, from the Boogie Down..." Hence, fear of a Brown Planet. This commentator is the product of miscegenation.

Back in high school, discussing racism with a teacher I arrived at the conclusion of miscegenation as a solution and likely outcome of multiculturalism (a necessity for human evolution and world peace), which that teacher appreciated.

Thus, it struck me that the flaxen suspect and apparently racist shooter in the recent 2011 Norway attacks discussed on DN! fears the erasure of his recessive-gene identity. This is a reality which must be confronted by all, especially as it's manipulated by corporate interests behind Western powers only interested in divide and conquer strategies of power consolidation. So, it's noteworthy DN! failed to address this. We understand ethnic apartheid as regressive. Yet, for those who fear seeing the dwindling of "Aryan" genetic stock, this reality of an increasingly Brown or non-Aryan (genetically-speaking) planet is very real. The potential neuroses entwined within the identity of the flaxen, blue-, green-eyed (i.e. "White") population cannot be dismissed. We see, statistically, the more educated a population, the less they reproduce and vice versa. Thus, the subjugation of nations, and communities therein, populated predominantly by people of color by "White" nations results in the increasing outnumbering of "Whites" by people of color. We see this in California as Brown people are projected to outnumber Whites in the coming decades. And we see the political backlash within the draconian policies meted out to Brown immigrants and residents in California and the U.S.

It must be admitted that the neuroses manifested by those whose identity is wrapped up in recessive genetics, attendant nationalism, and encouraged by "right-wing" rhetoric in the U.S. and abroad will only worsen as people of color continue to outnumber Whites and continue to emigrate to "White" nations, as a result of economic hardship, and as the potential for miscegenation exists.

Thus, we see fear of a Brown planet manifest itself among White supremacists and an increasingly sympathetic view to this among the broader White populations.

Time constraints and the nature of this forum necessitate quick commentary. We trust feedback and dialogue between us fellow listeners to flesh out ideas and to answer potential questions.

Anonymity and free speech in commentary at KPFA must be a right, especially as corruption within KPFA persists, despite admirable new management. If comments are deleted. KPFA must replace them with notices announcing KPFA's deletions and explaining the reasoning behind those deletions. It is not spam to duplicate commentary from the 9am DN! commentary to the 7am DN! commentary, as the two forums/pages are, by definition duplicates. Also, the only way listeners won't miss comments when they access the 9am page and not the 7am page is by duplicating commentary on both pages. Otherwise, it's a 50/50 chance listeners won't see a given commentary. We demand truth and transparency in decision-making at KPFA.
