Given the power of visual

Given the power of visual data presentation ( remembering the impact of Al Gore's mapping of climate data ) I am heartened to know that geographer Joni Seager and political scientist Cynthia Enloe have brought together their years of research and expertise and collaborated in this new book/atlas. Listening to their presentation of their research findings does indeed raise many challenging questions. While not explicitly stated in their KPFA interview, there would seem to be some curious and notable per capita correlations with their data mapping of income distribution, domestic violence, poverty, combat deaths, civilian gun related deaths and many other volatile social issues troubling our US political landscape today. Kudos to Enloe and Seager for sparking critical questions and hopefully heightened awareness about what is going so awfully wrong in our country.
