There is no generation of products, jobs, wealth...not even generation of ideas (intelligent and new) in this country. Look how mediocre our journalism has become: lazy, dumb, copycats, sleazy, shallow and corporate stooges. You guys are trying to be an exception...but I know it is hard.Excellent coverage! I wonder what the financial status and financial shifts were during the time of Hitler's fascism or Italian fascism (in the 1930s - and before and after).
The US is a police state with a militaristic foreign policy. People can now find jobs only in two areas: policing and the military (all connected to paranoia and security). Hence some people themselves are driving this craziness. Their political arguments, or psychotic beliefs and demands, are driven by this craziness. Two kinds of people rise to power under this craziness: crazy people like Rick Perry and shrewd cunning people (who use people's stupidity, idiocy and craziness) like Bachmann.
Excellent topic and first analysis! Could you also look at other countries where corportions have migrated and, instead of absorbing other values, bigger values and better values, tend to promote a selective perspective on business, profits and corporate culture?
