Aloha Caroline, Check out "Deep Future ~ The Next 100,000 years of Life on Earth." by Curt Stager. He gives a LONG view of the effects our carbon dumping will have on climate and life on earth far to the future. We need to keep the coal in the ground now to use 130,000 yrs and beyond to stave off future ice ages. We have already carbon loaded the atmosphere to such an extent that the 50,000 yr out next ice age has been canceled! According to Stager. Among another things.
