In December 2005, Federal agents conducted a nationwide sweep of radical environmentalists involved with the Earth Liberation Front, a group of autonomous cells founded in 1992 and spread worldwide, characterized by its goal to commit "economic sabotage and guerrilla warfare to stop the exploitation and destruction of the environment". Filmmakers Sam Cullman and Marshall Curry discuss their documentary about this group: "If A Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front".
