I love Richard Wolff! RW is someone who learns from his mistakes and isn't too proud to admit it. I heard him recently on his WBAI show, Economic Update, copping to having voted for Obama and admitting that was a big mistake. Too many of us have fallen for the false hope offered by the Democrats and been too afraid to vote our conscience. Now, RW has recently given a talk before the Green Party to mount a serious third-party challenge to the two-party dictatorship we live under. If anything, we should demand real debates with more than just two corporate parties. I don't know if we can trust the Green Party, because I think they sold out to the Democrats in 2004 by saying they'd pull their presidential candidate if he got too many votes. So, since 2004 it looks like the Greens became servants of the Dems, at least at the national level. But we sure can't keep supporting these two corporate parties.
Does anyone see any benefit in supporting Democrats anymore? Richard Wolff doesn't.
Each of the several times I've heard this recent Berkeley speech by the Marxist economist Richard Wolff, I'm awed by him. Wolff is extraordinarily expert, savvy, funny, and a terrific presenter offering a deconstructed understanding of complex US economics. I LOVE Letters and Politics!!! I appreciate the varied interviews and choices of rebroadcast audio files. This stuff makes me smarter and more energized about possibilities in recreating a new world. I also love this show because it's hosted by one of the best journalists, researchers, and radio people I've ever heard among all the fabulous people on KPFA - Mitch Jezeritch. Thanks to all the back-office people who contribute to this effort.
