The "expert" is this

The "expert" is this interview was extremely disappointing and I'm sure Michio knew it well but he is after all, the consummate diplomat. Everything Dumaine discussed was simplistic corporate propaganda. What will happen to the CO2 from coal plants. His answer: "trust me, it will be taken care of". Where will the electricity come from for charging all these hybrids? His answer: "trust me, it will be taken care of.". What will happen to the waste from all these nuclear plants you think we must have? His answer: "trust me, it will be taken care of." He has no idea of science or technology and his thinking is based on acceptance of transparent corporate claims.

I believe this was a replay from several years ago, but even granting that, his expertise was non-existent. Now when Michio interviews a real expert like Lester Brown, we really learn something.

I muse that this is what happens when you bow to the common bias that every discussion must be positive and negativity has no place. You have to constantly assure your listeners that the problems are all solved, whether it's verifiable or not. For my money, I prefer realism over pollyannism.
