Thank you Tina and Barbara. It takes courage to talk about the problems with the sex offender laws in public. I wish you and your family a better outcome-- and soon!
Thank you for letting me tell some of our story and bringing attention to this issue of injustice. I know you mentioned CaliforniaRSOL and I would also like to share ethicaltreatment.org which tells of some of the treatment practices. I thank anyone who will take the time to share. Please don't wait till it effects you or a loved one, get involed now! we need to reform the sex offender laws!
Travis Robinson is my grandson, his father is my son. Even though we have no criminal records he is not allowed visits with grandparents because someone decided he was having too much face to face contact with family. His Maternal Grandfather and I both requested custody of him and his health insurance would have taken care of private therapy that would have met the court requirements. Instead he is now a foster child and a burden to the tax payers. It is all about the money. The Children's Home of Stockton gets paid extremely well for the children the courts send them and they will hold them as long as they can. Travis is not allowed to open his windows or curtains and he is only allowed to close the door to his rooms while changing clothes. As you hear more from Tina you will know what Travis did and you too will wonder why he could not have been placed with grandparents who were more than willing to care for him. He is a good kid who does not smoke, do drugs and who has never been in any trouble of any kind. He is respectful of his elders and was raised right. He was always a very happy child but unfortunately the "treatment" is changing him, he is depressed and does not understand why this is happening to him. They say our family is not co operating with the program soTrav could not be with us at Christmas. Why should Travis be punished for his parents standing up for his rights? Thank you for getting the word out, our children need all the help they can get. Hopefully more parents will come forward now and speak up for their children.
