Comments
How important it is and grateful the readers and listening audience should be, that Ervand Abrahamian mentions the US overthrow of Iran's SECULAR democracy and their incorruptible, loveable eccentric and genius leader Mossadegh in 1953. That is where the understandable enmity of the Iranian people towards the US government begins. Mossadegh, also a great lawyer, argued successfully in the International Court for Iran's right to nationalize its oil before he was overthrown by both US and UK. The vast majority of US policy makers and writers unfortunately and erroneously think that the history between Iran versus the US and west begins in 1979.
