With reference to your feature concerning the Berkley Barb, the only reference that I've ever seen about that publication was in another publication that depicted a cartoon with a racist caricature of a Black man holding a bomb--like a bowling ball with a lit fuse--saying "Here's one from de soul brothers!"
That cartoon was attributed to the Berkley Barb, which I assumed to be a College Republican rag. Maybe they trained their cartoonists at Klan HQ.
