I had been planning for 1 1/2 years to come to NY for "dinner & a show" with Amy Goodman, et al. Because of NYPD & Mayor Bloomberg's approval of the invasive, and in my opinion illegal, policies that spy on Muslims I am cancelling all of my trips to that area : I have no desire to expend money where human rights are abused and freedom of religion is - or once was - one of the basic human rights and freedoms that Americans enjoyed. I will still make a pledge to Democracy Now! & to Pacifica - but I will spend my visit in a place that I feel protects all people and that does not needlessly risk the safety of innocent people.
