Hi Chris Welch, The

Hi Chris Welch,
The discussion with Robert Alvarez about the Cesium-137 in blue fin tuna was misleading because it didn't mention that the amount of that radioisotope in the tuna represents an additional radiation dose of 3% more than that from a natural radioisotope which is also in the tissue of all animals and plants, Potassium-40. Cesium and Potassium are in the same column of the periodic table and are metabolised virtually identically, They both emit beta rays and gamma rays so their hazards can be directly compared to one another by looking at the concentrations they exhibit in the tissues. And the amount of Cesium-137 was 1/30 of that already present in the form of Potassium-40. This finding represents absolutely no significant additional risk to humans, be they adult men, pregnant women, children. I would hope you would mention this next Saturday morning
