Yet another cheerful but unsatisfying interview with a materialist who has a stereotypical understanding of his own religion (science) and of reality. Yes, physical matter is made of atoms. But what are atoms made of? Answer: energy. Energy that constantly and literally churns into and out of existence. Properly understood, the physical universe much more closely resembles a musical note, not a thing. "Thingness", atoms and all, is a figment of human imagination. And forget about it: 1 million monkeys on 1 million keyboards will never type the complete Shakespeare. Can't happen.
People are reconciling science with spirit. It's not hard, really. You just have to give up the idea of the angry, paternal, personal god.
