Toby Hemenway is author of Gaia's Garden: A Guide to Home-Scale Permaculture, a 2011 Nautilus Book Award Gold winner, and for the last seven years the world's best-selling permaculture book. He is currently a field director at the Permaculture Research Institute USA. He is a writer, lecturer, and consulting biologist. His focus is on permaculture, a design approach based on ecological principles that creates sustainable landscapes, homes and communities.
