If Mitt Romney's Father had run, he would probably have beaten Obama because he was a liberal Republican with the common touch who also had a good record on race. As I learned recently, he broke with Goldwater and accurately predicted the cul-de-sac in which the Republicans find themselves. Even at that, they came close enough to winning. If Romney had been allowed to be his once moderate self, they just might have done so. Good show today.
