Dear KPFA, Wonderful segment

Dear KPFA,

Wonderful segment on Cannabis. There is something that people simply cannot get their head around – that is that the policy of the United States is to keep Cannabis and cocaine illegal. The reason is money and money laundering by our banks. This has been well documented with small fines, relative to the amounts involved, being imposed on these drug money laundering banks – the most recent example is HSBC.

We're not in Afghanistan for minerals or Colombia to promote democracy. This is about drugs and drug money. During the financial meltdown of 2008 it was revealed that drug money was a major source of liquidity for some banks.

So, the issue is not the efficacy of this or that drug, but how and who is making the money. See a very revealing segment from “The Corbett Report.”

Thank you
