As President Obama prepares for his State of the Union Address tomorrow night, we talk to filmmaker Michael Kirk who has just finished a Frontline documentary chronicling the series of budget fights on Capitol Hill.
We also speak to the former Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Alan Blinder who is warning about new economic bubbles and we have a progressive analysis of the Pope's resignation.

Wow, very interesting, refreshing take on the Pope's resignation and the state of the Church today. Would like to hear more from Frank in the future.
Mitch Jeseritch's interview with former chair of Federal Reserve took me by surprise. As a KPFA listener and contributor I do not expect politicians such as Allan Blunders to be invited to this radio station to promote their books and their neo-liberal ideologies without being challenged by the host. Are we going to the path of PBS and NPR? Did Mitch Jeseritch ran out of progressive economists? I need a response.
