We and Doug have been experimenting with a new technology for getting a live, studio-quality connection between him (in Brooklyn) and us (in Berkeley). This time, for reasons we don't fully understand, the sound was very glitched-up. Until we have it sorted out, we'll be switching back to telephone lines.
I feel that the technological proficiency of KPFA has been on a long downward trend. This is to be expected as professionalism is generally sabotaged by poor management.
Your computer sound system may be the problem, not KPFA
Why such a short interview with Doug Henwood? A 10-12 minute segment doesn't really allow for exploration of these vital issues in any meaningful depth.
The audio on this show was really bad (at least on the Doug Henwood portion)? Both Brian's and Doug's sound were awful--crackly and broken up.
I used earphones and Henwood interview was fine.
