This was a very evocative interview, well-done. Although I am not partially deaf, I found Shea's observations about language, sound, hearing and social contexts to be directly relevant to my own experiences. Bravo!

Thank you for this interview. My grandfather was partially deaf too. Gerald Shea's description of how he coped and interpreted his world helped me understand what my grandfather went through and how he heard the world.
