Lester Brown weaves together the many strands that constitute the primary causes, effects, and human consequences of the current climate situation (including various impending disasters and the boneheaded political stalemate). He does not become impassioned or alarmist; rather (which is even more convincing & scary) he calmly, logically, follows the status of the environment with the sequence of events likely to unfold leading to multiple system failures if we continue to (in effect) "do niothing" (Plan A).
I already agreed with Brown's prognoses, and have gleaned many of many of the facts he cites from scattered sources. What Brown excels at is selecting and presenting the most crucial information:, the salient, mostly human causes with their unavoidable, dire effects (if we don't act), His "Plan B" to save the environment (life as we know it) focuses on: (1) controlling climate change & the degradation of nature. (2) controlling population growth, and (3) ending starvation & poverty . . . . tall orders all three, but critical for survival.
It was a great talk which I want to share with lots of other people. Thank you, Professor Brown!
