I am really upset I heard

I am really upset I heard this now instead of before the election. I would have completely changed my mind. Dave Regan is a liar. We were told we would lose our contract, we were told to cross picket lines. Every "allegation" he dismissed was actually occuring to SEIU Members. The ONLY reason I voted for SEIU was because I feared losing my current contract and benefits. I wish I could re-cast my vote.

It was really difficult to

It was really difficult to listen to the seiu representative. My stomach was sick listening to his lying and sliming. I saw him in a stewards' meeting when the Trusteeship first took place, and he was a snake oil salesman personified, a double talker, a liar.

thank you for airing this

thank you for airing this very informative and extremely important program !

Arin S. I'm sorry you haven't

Arin S. I'm sorry you haven't had a new contract since 2011, but it might be the best thing, because all SEIU's contracts have takeaways. Or you could be moved to Tyrone Freemans Local and be in that corrupt mess. Hang in there. There will come a day when you will be able to join the most progressive Union in the Nation. That Union is NUHW-CNA. I hope that day is soon!

Thanks, Pammie, for your kind

Thanks, Pammie, for your kind words. I am very aware the coming contract could be worse than the 2009 one which had numerous takeaways like weakening our healthcare plan and ending paid caregiver classes etc. - we're already facing another 4.4% cut from the state and the Obama admin. seems poised to push cuts to Medicare and Medicaid which could further reduce hours for IHSS consumers and wages for providers. It's the uncertainty and complete lack of info from UHW that's very wearing on both providers and consumers. Any ethical union that is member run and understands that IHSS workers are public employees as well as healthcare workers in dispersed job sites and will keep us organized as a political force is welcome here.

Does Dave Regan realize that

Does Dave Regan realize that there's a new invention called the Internet? It's handy for fact checking everything our "leader" claims. Here's something else for Kaiser workers to consider - IHSS workers in Sonoma County have been waiting since Sept. 30th, 2011 for SEIU-UHW to finish bargaining our contract and hoping that it's not worse than the previous one they stuck us with. We still have no sick leave, retirement or vacation pay and our wages have been frozen since 2009. UHW reportedly has offered certain IHSS workers several hundred dollars apiece to attend training sessions aimed at interfering in the Kaiser elections. We may be stuck paying Regan's $300, 000+ per year salary but it doesn't mean we have to swallow the garbage he pushes. Best of luck to Kaiser workers.

Anyone on the fence about the

Anyone on the fence about the SEIU-NUHW fight will learn all they need to know from the SEIU president's approach to this interview: "Brian, why are you asking me all these journalistic questions?" So evasive.
