I'm an environmental health,

I'm an environmental health, disability rights, and labor activist, and was deeply disturbed by this broadcast. I've also been receiving numerous emails from others in the community, who were appalled by this industry propaganda, entitled "Life in 2030".

The segment, apparently produced by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), both organizations that serve industry, celebrated several harmful technologies without as much as a challenge from those who have been harmed by them.

All the products they talked about are environmental health hazards.

They pushed a vision of robotics, so-called 'Smart' appliances, and other wireless products, that are to be tied into the electric grid, essentially glorifying electro-smog which is injuring and disabling many in our community, and in some cases displacing them from their homes. They also lauded nanotechnology, the particles of which have been compared to asbestos fibers and the injuries they cause.

How was it decided that this industry propaganda would be allowed to air on our community radio station, which does not allow industry sponsorship?

Why was that precious time not spent on something relevant to the community, like the death of Kayla Moore, who was killed by the Berkeley Police mere blocks away from the station, and which KPFA has been far too quiet about?

If KPFA is so hard up for good programming, suspending JR Valrey, whose thought-provoking broadcast would have ordinarily been airing at that time, was probably not such a great idea. When can we expect him to be reinstated?

This does have to be the

This does have to be the worst piece of propaganda i've ever heard aired on KPFA- now on NPR we would expect it and they would have gotten a little bundle of $$ from PG$E, NASA or whatever little poisonous nanotech firm funded this piece of garbage. the listeners deserve to know what programer was in charge of this so that we can weigh in. Is there no oversight?- did we the listeners pay for this?- what an absolute shame-- Here is something that may balance the scales- please find a way to go to a screening--and i hope someone weighs in with more comments about how nano-particles actually penetrate your skin and go right into your bloodstream- really really bad
Last night we say the first screening of 'Take Back Your Power' if you missed it, here are the pre-release screenings in California: April 16-20 Take Back Your Power, an eye-opening documentary which investigates the "smart" meter program currently being implemented worldwide by most of the major utility companies. The "smart" meter battle continues to heat up in the golden state - and many other regions worldwide - as people become increasingly aware of an unprecedented range of issues including damage to public health, in-home privacy, grid and home hacking vulnerability, systemic issues causing billing increases, and corporate fraud.

About the film Take Back Your Power:
“Over the past eighteen months in shooting and developing this film, it became clear that the issue of “smart” meters is of critical importance at this time in our world. We’ve been largely kept in the dark about it – aside from the information from a growing number of concerned and aware groups have helped bring to light. It’s time this subject matter is brought out for public discussion and properly understood, so we can decide if this is a direction we’d like society to take.

“Our project started out as me and my cameraman friend doing several interviews with people experiencing health symptoms following the installation of an electricity meter. Over 70 interviews from 4 countries later, it’s now evolved into a full-length feature film about 90 minutes in length, with a Tom Clancy-esque plot.

“It’s our intention, with this film, that the rest of the world could have access to understand what’s at stake in this issue, as it relates to the direction that the people would like our society to take, at this time.“

What to expect in the film:
“We decided to go a direction that stays ‘on-track’ and focused on the ‘smart’ grid and metering issue, and the areas of our lives for which there are profound implications. This topic is also quite complex. While we did vast amounts of research leading to a discussion of the larger context of and history behind the “smart” grid, we decided not to go too far in this direction in the film. So the film stays highly accessible to all ages and backgrounds, and as many people as possible can benefit from the discussion and be empowered to participate.

“I feel that it’s time to have this topic properly covered in an accurate and entertaining film – one which connects the dots and asks important questions of the audience – and I’m very glad to be getting the film released and publicly available.”
Josh del Sol Director & Producer, Take Back Your Power

This was a slick US

This was a slick US military-packaged propaganda show designed to hide many technology scandals and disasters. WHY was this put on Pacifica Radio?
A counter-propaganda technique is to tie positively-framed associations to the keywords and themes from the bad news.
So the show starts off with an overlong look at disco-dancing robots and robots playing soccer, non-threatening banality designed to amuse naive youth and create some rapport with the target audience through music.
A look at anti-mosquito clothing and an island with one power cable that gets cut is a decoy of the source of West Nile virus (and Lyme Disease) - Plum Island biowarfare lab near New York City. Plum Island's back-up power was allowed to remain broken so when it lost power in 1991 Hurricane Bob, Plum Island released toxic sewage into the atmosphere, according to the 2004 book, 'Lab 257' by Michael Christopher Carroll.
The show tells us safe stories about NANOtechnology but leaves out the US military's nanothermite found to have been used to demolish 3 World Trade Center buildings on 9/11/01, according to Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (
The decoy name game is evident, too.
A "Mr. Hansen" sheepishly admits to using "too much power" at his home. No, this is not the Dr. James Hansen who quit NASA to fight global warming.
We also hear from a "Mark WISNER," who is not the CIA's Frank Wisner who infamously assembled the CIA's media system he called "the Mighty Wurlitzer."
That would be the same system that created this bogus National Science Foundation misdirection propaganda show.
BUT. How did this CIA product end up on The Morning Mix?
Are KPFA staff really that naive? Seems so. Learn. Learn.
Don't air CIA product anymore, OK? Thanks in advance.
