President Bush and British Prime Minster Blair stand together at the White House, backing Israeli Prime Minister Sharon’s unilateral plan for Gaza and the West Bank and endorsing a United Nations proposal for a provisional government for Iraq.

U.S. occupation in Iraq slay at least 20 Iraqis in the besieged city of Fallujah and in the southern city of Kufa. Al Jazeera broadcasts a videotape showing a U.S. soldier held captive by an Iraqi resistance groups. It wants to exchange him for Iraqi prisoners.

The White House confirms that President Bush ordered an Iraqi invasion plan drawn in November of 2001—while US forces were still fighting in Afghanistan.

The California Legislature approves landmark workers’ compensation legislation. Governor Schawrzenneger will sign it into law on Monday.

A town meeting in Fremont on the state budget and the governor’s proposed spending cuts.

Cuba calls on the United Nations to investigate human rights abuses and torture at the US Naval base at Guantanamo base where terrorist suspects are held.
