Terra Verde

This fundraiser show features a conversation with Dr. Daphne Miller, a Bay Area-based family physician whose second book, Farmacology: What Innovative Family Farming Can Teach Us About Health and Healing, was published on April 16 (the book is available as a thank-you gift for listener supporters in this fund drive). Dr. Miller explains her reasons for visiting the gardens, farms, and ranch she portrays in Farmacology, espousing a hopeful manifesto about the many lessons doctors can learn from farmers whose holistic agricultural practices mimic natural systems. Weaving in insights from forward-thinking biomedical scientists, she presents a potent challenge to the reductionist principles that dominate mainstream medicine. Her journey promises to inspire to anyone interested in “weblike thinking” while on the path to wellness.
