Radio Chronicles – “Get Down Glitteratti”

The School of the Get Down presents “Get Down Glitteratti, A Night of Song,”
featuring Miss Faye Carol and her Glitterattians, a special event coming up
Saturday the 9th June at 5pm at the Black Repertory Theatre, 3201 Adeline
Street, Berkeley (510.652.2120) or (http://blackrepertorygroup.com). Enjoy
the cavalcade of voices, showcasing many of Miss Caro’s past and present
adult students. Faye Carol, a singer who teaches, provides another legitimate stage for her students.  Additionally, Miss Carol works with youth ages 7 – 17 years old, as part of the Music in the Community (MITC) programme. The year-long after school endeavour boasts a small class of young women who develop performance and singing skills.  According to Miss Carol, rather than select the “best” students, she targets the most interested, pulling the best out of them. These children learn discipline through the arts. They even make a visit to a convalescent home, taking their song to elders. MITC culminates with an annual performance on the 2ndJune, again at the Black Repertory Group, 3201 Adeline Street, Berkeley.
Be sure and tune in to the Radio Chronicles Sunday the 26 May, 6.30pm – 7pm, as The School of the Get Down present a sample of “Get Down
Glitteratti, A Night of Song,” featuring Miss Faye Carol (www.fayecarol.com)
and her Glitterattians.

Produced and hosted by Safi wa Nairobi.
