Thank you for Letters and

Thank you for Letters and Politics. This show with Mr. Jeserich presents consistently excellent interviews and topics.

Regarding today's topic with Prof. Parenti today: Parenti's book "The Assassination of Julius Caesar" was a real eye-opener when I read it. Subsequently, I learned that Julius Caesar's harsh crushing (even genocide) of the Northern European tribes was greatly motivated by the wealth of gold and silver of these tribes; after his conquests and bringing in these vast quantities of precious metals, I understand this caused a problem and devaluation. I now wonder if this also was one of the factors that led to the Roman elite turning so angrily on Julius Caesar?
