Latin Music
Fusing both the U.S. and Latin American cultural traditions, Latino music is as diverse in genre and style as the people who make it. While many crossover Latino musicians have become popularly known, there are many independent artists and bands who haven't hit the radar yet. Come learn about these lesser known performers, their geographic journeys revealed through song, and the social issues they explore. If you're interested in the folk-oriented ranchera genre, the hip-hop influenced reggaeton (re-ga-ton) genre, the syncopated rhythms found in these stunningly diverse musical expressions, and everything in between, you'll want to listen in.
