Over the Edge - “Universe Part 25 What About The 60’s? O”

This one is all about The Last Poets, who introduced everyone to rapping in the mid 60’s, accompanied by civil rights radicals like Malcolm X, and the whole aura of black radical revolutionary lyrics and speeches that scared us all in that short but intense era of black political emergence. Vietnam underlies much of this cultural resentment and M.L.K decries our war in Vietnam in one of the best, now forgotten speeches he ever gave.

I was so bummed I lost power at a little after 2 am. So I missed the last hour and the chance to add to the mix. MLK was not a willing martyr. No one promised him any virgins. I mean WTF who likes inexperienced partners? That ain't heaven, my friend.

To get another show like that night; 1-25; may I suggest We use some "BLADERUNNER" & "2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY" sound-bites for the background ambience, add some "5TH ELEMENT" to the foreground, add a dash of "iCE PiRATES" for flavor, and a bit of "SPACE BALLS" to top it off, ...that should do it!?
