John Steinbeck was a big

John Steinbeck was a big adversary of the large, rich land owners of San Joaquin Valley, of course, and wrote about this valley in Harvest Gypsies in 1936. The land owners need immigrant labor for their crops, yet, exploit their labor. The farmers/landowners are multi-millionaires, they just need to pay the workers decent wages! Salinas is a particularly depressing town.

Today's program with Mark,

Today's program with Mark, award winning journalist from Fresno, has been outstanding.
We need this kind of reporting, education, to strive for sustainability instead of destroying
our natural resources, health and welfare of all people. He gets right to the point of the
destruction from one generation to the next from those who only care about wealth instead of
preservation, such as the Boswell landlord. What's going on in Fresno, is an example in part of what's happening throughout California and to myself in San Benito County. We need our activist environmental groups to get these facts out to the people and stop these devastating projects! Thank you for Up Front
