P.S. It's not just because of

P.S. It's not just because of the advertisement contradiction, it's because of all the endless nagging and bullying and boring repetition and on and on that goes on with the pledge drives. KPFA management needs to ask itself how many listeners it drives away by the endless and sometimes downright obnoxious "pitching" that goes on. I simply avoid KPFA during pledge drives and in fact discovered some other better programming on other stations as a result. In fact, I now sometimes tune in to other stations to start out with when I turn on the radio, whether it's a pledge drive period on KPFA or not, simply because I discovered other programs I wouldn't otherwise have discovered had I not been driven away from KPFA because of its interminable nagging to pledge during a drive. Sorry, KPFA, you were my sole station but now you've driven me away. And I wonder how many others have reacted the same. This has been bothering me to say for a long time, so I'm saying it here but it could even better be for certailn other far more obnoxious pushers, such as Brian Edward Tiegert, for example, who should just plain take his unwelcome attitude somewhere, anywhere, else.

Nicely as he does it, Mitch

Nicely as he does it, Mitch is pitching an advertisement for KPFA while bragging that KPFA has no advertising. Gimme a break! If KPFA doesn't give up this money-raising habit it will lose all of its listeners. I am now turning off this program.
