The Berkeley Old Time Music Convention

The festivities open with an opening night square dance on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 8 pm at the Niebyl-Proctor Marxist Library featuring Amy Hofer, Jordan Ruyle and Edie Laden; The Pilot Mountain Bobcats, Ginny Hawker, Tracy Schwarz and ACES will be featured in concert at the Freight & Salvage on Thursday evening, Sept. 15 at 8 pm - The Stairwell Sisters invite musicians to jam in the lobby starting at 5 pm; Friday evening, Sept. 16th's Freight & Salvage show features Mike Bryant & Joseph Decosimo with Karen Celia Heil, Thomas Maupin, Daniel Rothwell & Friends, Craig Ventresco & Meredith Axelrod and the 7:15 pm showing of "Let Your Feet Do The Talkin'". There will be a concert for kids and families on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Berkeley Public Library-Main Branch, Community meeting room on the 3rd Floor featuring Roots Revue. Saturday's activities also includes a String Band Contest at the Berkeley Farmers Market at Civic Center Park from 11 am to 3 pm, a Flat footing workshop with Thomas Maupin & Jay Bland at Ashkenaz, Gilman & San Pablo in Berkeley starting at 6:30 pm and a Square Dance at 8 pm at Ashkenaz featuring the Pilot Mountain Bobcats, Mike Bryant, Joseph Decosimo & Karen Celia Heil, Triple Chicken Foot plus callers Susan Michaels and Erik Hoffman plus open jamming in the back studio at 8 and 10 pm. On Sunday, September 18, there will be Music Workshops at the Freight & Salvage from 11 am to 2:30 pm, a Family Square Dance at Ashkenaz from 3 to 4:30 pm. and an Old Time Cabaret at Jupiter in Berkeley from 3 to 7 pm.
