The Berkeley Old Time Music Convention

Featuring artists such as Ginny Hawker & Tracy Schwarz, Joseph Deconsimo & The Bucking Mules, Franklin George & Kim Johnson, The Cliffhangers, Earl White Band, Twice As Nice, The Onlies, WE Reid & Bonnie Zahnow, Paul Brown & Terri McMurray, John Cohen, Evie Ladin, Tony Mates and Alexia Smith.
The festivities start Tuesday, Sept. 16 with a movie night featuring the film "Banjo Tales" followed by live music at the Pacific Film Archive; A welcome party featuring Paul Brown and Terri McMurray followed by jamming, visiting and impromptu square dancing at the Niebyl Proctor Marxist Library on Wed. Sept. 17; A concert featuring Joseph Decosimo and the Bucking Miles, Franklin George & Kim Johnson and Twice As Nice, at the Freight and Salvage on Thursday, Sept. 18; Friday, Sept. 19th, a panel discussion with The Onlies, Franklin George, Kim Johnson, Joseph Decosimo at UC Berkeley's Morrison Hall Room 125 starting at 12:10 pm and a night time concert with Ginny Hawker and Tracy Schwarz, The Cliffhangers and The Onlies at the Freight and Salvage; Saturday, Sept 20th, a free concert for kids and parents featuring W.B. Reid and Bonnie Zahnow at the Berkeley Public Library Main Branch 3rd Floor Community Room starting at 10:15, A Market String Band Contest from 11 am to 3 pm at the Berkeley Farmer's Market and a Square Dance fetauring Joseph Decosimo & The Backing Mules, Cliffhangers, Earl White Band with callers Tony Mates and Evie Ladin starting at 8 pm at Ashkenaz; Sunday, Sept. 21st will feature a family square dance with The Onlies, calling by Evie Ladin and Tony Mates from 3 to 4 pm at Ashkenaz and a Picnic and Potluck from 1 to 5 pm. Daytime activities feature instructional workshops and jamming.
