The 10th Annual Berkeley World Music Festival
Saturday, June 22nd from 12 Noon to 9 pm at
Telegraph Avenue at Haste.
All daytime events are free at various venues!
Featured events will feature a concert at People's Park featuring Baraka Moon with Stephen Kent from KPFA's Music Of The World program and Sukhawat Ali Khan, MC Rai and the Tri Tip Trio from 1 to 6 pm. There will also be a Crafts Bazaar at the park from 12 Noon to 6 pm. Other featured artists at venues throughout Telegraph Avenue include The Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel (Latin Jazz/Salsa), Agapi Mou (Traditional Greek Music), Ashling with Melanie O'Reilly (Irish/Gaelic), The Dogon Lights (Psychedelic Afro-Fusion), Georges Lammam Ensemble (Arabic), Les Gwan Jupons (Vintage Caribbean Folk-Jazz), Michael Masley (World Kalimbalom) , Tim Rayborn & Shira Kammen (Medieval/World Folk) , Sadza Marimba & Mbira (Zimbabwean Dance Music), Belinda Salvidge (Celtic/American Fiddle), Vakani Mawethu Choir (South African Harmonies) and Jeff Whittier (North Indian Classical Flute).
There will also be a Festival After Party with Bohemian Cabaret performers Vagabond Opera at Ashkenaz starting at 9:30 pm. There is a paid admission for the after party.
