"The Center For Asian American Media (CAAM) is proud to present the 30th Annual San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF)! The largest festival of it’s kind runs in San Francisco, Berkeley, and San Jose from March 8-18 2012. The Festival’s 30th anniversary program celebrates the past, present, and future – not only honoring pioneers in Asian and Asian American media-making, but also new directions in digital and interactive media, sound and youth culture, culinary arts and gaming.

SFIAAFF will once again feature a dynamic and forward-looking selection of the best in new Asian and Asian American cinema. This year’s program boasts a line-up including a Hawai’ian love story and global warming documentary, indie horror flicks and a live-audience participation Filipino musical, films remembering the Japan Tsunami & Earthquake, and programs celebrating Asian American media pioneers. In other words, there’s something for everyone in this year’s 30th SFIAAFF!

Oh, and SFIAAFF includes more than just films!

This year, our program expands to include interactive salons underscoring the culinary, music, and gaming worlds, performative cinema events, and of course some of the most raucous parties in the Bay.
Film screenings, filmmaker spotlights, and interactive events take place at the Castro Theatre, Sundance Kabuki Cinemas, San Francisco Film Society/New People Cinema in San Francisco, Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley, and the Camera 3 Cinemas in San Jose.  Tickets go on sale beginning Thursday, February 9 for CAAM members and Monday, February 13 for the general public.
