Ecology and Social Justice with Susan Griffin

Date of the Event:
Thursday, October 24, 2013 - 10:00am - 1:00pm

Oil Course

Beginning October 3, and every Thursday morning in October from 10 am to 1 pm,  I'll be hosting an extraordinary group of speakers on the subject of ecology and social justice. The course will explore the way both ecological disasters, such as climate change, and social injustice-- such as racism, sexism and economic inequality-- are the consequences of the same dysfunctional world view, one that separates us from nature and from each other.

We'll hear from East Asian scholar in religious studies Vijaya Nagarajan, Native scholar-activist  Melissa Nelson, social justice and environmental activists Carl Anthony and Paloma Pavel, and founder of the International Forum on Globalization IFG) and author of the Capitalism Papers Jerry Mander. Activist extraordinaire Claire Greensfelder will facilitate an on going discussion about where we go next and what we can do.
